Two area business benefit from FedNor investment
August 30, 2023

FedNor is making strategic investments to support the expansion, and modernization of businesses across northern Ontario. That includes $2,213,605 to support two businesses in the Temiskaming Shores area.

Tobler Dairy Farm and TEM-PRO in New Liskeard are benefitting, while there is also support for projects in the communities of Armstrong Township and Thornloe.

The Honourable Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming says, “Strong local economies rely on the growth of local businesses. Strategic investments such as these will allow the two businesses to purchase equipment, increase production and find new ways to become more energy efficient.”

Tobler dairy farm is receiving an unconditionally repayable investment of $600,000 to increase production, maintain healthy cattle, and reduce carbon emissions. Specifically, funding will support building a new barn, renovating an existing structure, and purchasing equipment, including a milking robot, collector, bale chopper and mixer, feed pusher, and manure pump.

Meantime, TEM-PRO is receiving a repayable investment of $91,048 to support scaling up and expanding the business. Specifically, this project includes building upgrades and renovations, improvement of the manufacturing section of the facility, purchasing tools and equipment, as well as website, e-commerce, and marketing tool development.

Rota says, “These investments will help grow the regional economy. By helping local businesses innovate and grow, we can continue to create good jobs and ensure good living and working conditions for the people of Nipissing-Timiskaming and throughout Northern Ontario.”

As well, B&G Industrial Services is receiving an unconditionally repayable investment of $1,389,350 to support expansion and to increase automation of their trailer production facility. Specifically, this project includes expansion of existing facilities, including heating, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and the purchase and installation of new equipment including cranes, welders, and positioners. The Township of Armstrong is also receiving funding, an investment of $133,207 to support the revitalization of the Parc d’Earlton. Specifically, this project will include the rehabilitation and paving of park pathways, the refurbishment and replacement of benches and bleachers, and modernizing pavilions and other structures to improve accessibility and to increase capacity for hosting larger events.

Rota says, “I am also happy to see the communities of Earlton and Thornloe will be benefitting from this investment.
