The Honourable Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing—Timiskaming, today announced FedNor investments totalling $462,496 in three projects in the Temiskaming Shores area.
The three investments include $299,996 for Three H Furniture Systems Limited to modernize and increase manufacturing and to expand their facility, $122,500 for Grant Farms to purchase and incorporate innovative and more environmentally friendly equipment, and $40,000 to Phillips Seeds Ltd. to support the design and construction of a storage and processing building.
Rota says, “The Temiskaming Shores area is marked by historic communities that have been built through hard work and determination. These investments in local businesses will help continue that hard work, and will support community members in growing and further developing the place they call home. By providing funds for a diverse set of projects, FedNor is helping to create the conditions for rural communities like Temiskaming Shores to thrive and remain central to Canada’s continued success.”
These investments will help maintain a healthy regional economy and will support continued economic growth in the area. In addition to the maintenance and growth of long-standing existing businesses, anticipated benefits of these investments include: the creation of 20 new jobs; increased product diversity, manufacturing capacity, and sales; and beneficial community impacts including improved sourcing of seed grains for local farmers, and the purchase and use of raw products produced in the region.
Patricia Willard-Inglis, Vice-President of Three H Furniture Systems Limited says, “FedNor’s support is going to help us continue to grow, to provide new, high-quality products to Northern Ontario, Canadians, and to the rest of the world, while expanding local operations and contributing to our community economy. Thanks to the Government of Canada, we will be able to build on our tradition of fine craftsmanship for years to come.”
