Five Municipalities receive support for stronger asset management practices
February 11, 2022

North Bay, Ontario, February 9th, 2022 — From roads and buildings, to waste water systems – strong asset management is key to building strong communities. Municipalities of all sizes need the tools and support to make evidence-based decisions that can help them plan a healthier, safer and more prosperous future for everyone.

The Government of Canada is investing $240,021 in five municipalities in Nipissing-Timiskaming through the Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP), which is delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities on behalf of the federal government.

The Municipalities of Callander, Calvin, East Ferris, Powassan and the Town of Latchford are all receiving funding for projects that will help with their Asset Management Programs.

The MAMP aims to strengthen infrastructure investment decisions based on reliable data and sound asset management practices through asset management training, funding, and information sharing. These projects will help make data-driven decisions about key infrastructure and ensure long-term infrastructure performance.
